Inclusiveness, Accessibility, and Childcare
We strive for an inclusive and welcoming event where everybody is comfortable and able to engage in stimulating and constructive philosophical conversations.
Women and others who are underrepresented in philosophy are especially encouraged to submit an abstract and to participate.
All venues will be wheelchair-accessible. For participants with hearing or visual impairments, we strive to make all handouts or slides (and maybe papers) electronically available beforehand.
Parents who think about bringing children are encouraged to do so and children are very welcome at the symposium itself.
Further, we are happy to offer free childcare during the symposium through JUniKinder, a childcare service run by the university of Jena in cooperation with the local student services in Thuringia. JUniKinder's facilities are located at Ernst-Abbe-Platz, in easy walking distance to the symposium’s venues. Childcare costs will be fully covered for all students and speakers and, depending on funding and availability, also for other participants. All participants requiring childcare are kindly asked to register as early as possible to help us make sure that we can support everybody as best as we can.
We welcome any further ideas and suggestions which help us achieve our goals with respect to inclusiveness and accessibility. Please do not hesitate to contact David LöwensteinExternal link about any such question.
